Virtual Reality is being used for court cases
Immersonal, a tech company based in Belfast, has created a virtual reality software that is being introduced in 52 Scottish courts and piloted in The Hague with the International Criminal Court. The technology allows victims to interact with key members of the legal process in a three-dimensional virtual world, with the goal of making the court experience less intimidating and traumatic for those involved. Users can navigate the virtual court and interact with court clerks who explain their role. Immersonal's expertise lies in creating affordable virtual-reality experiences and training simulations for organizations and individuals without extensive technical knowledge. The Scottish Government has awarded the company a £500,000 contract to provide the virtual-reality service to courts over the next year.
